Reduced charging current mode
Each charger from the Blue Smart series allows you to switch to the limited charging current mode. After selecting the appropriate charging mode, simply hold down the MODE button for 3 seconds and the LEDs will start flashing. At that moment, the maximum charging current will be reduced. You can find the specific value in the parameters.

Bluetooth
Complete settings of the Blue Smart IP65 series chargers can be performed via a smartphone. You can monitor the battery charging status and control other functions via the VictronConnect application. An advanced mode for experts is also available. Charging history is also available. You can download the app for free on Google Play or in the App Store.

Regeneration
A lead-acid battery that has been undercharged or left discharged for several days or weeks will deteriorate due to sulfation. If detected early, sulfation can sometimes be partially reversed by charging at a low current before the battery reaches a higher voltage.

Recovery function for completely discharged batteries
Most reverse polarity protected chargers do not recognize batteries discharged to zero or near zero voltage and therefore will not start charging them. However, the Blue Smart charger will attempt to recharge even a completely discharged battery at a low current, restoring normal charging as soon as sufficient voltage appears at the battery terminals.

Ultra-high efficiency “green” battery charger
With an efficiency of up to 95%, these chargers produce up to 4x less heat than the industry standard. When the battery is fully charged, the power consumption is reduced to 0.5 W, which is 5 to 10 times better than the standard.

Long life, safety and quiet operation
- Low thermal load on electronic components.
- Protection against dust, water and chemicals.
- Overheating protection: the output current will decrease with increasing temperature up to 60°C, but the charger will not fail.
- The chargers are completely silent: they do not contain an active heat sink (fan) or other moving parts.

Storage mode: less electrode corrosion
Even the lower trickle charging voltage of conventional chargers, which follows the absorption phase, can cause a reduction in battery life if left on permanently. The Blue Smart charger can further reduce the charging voltage if it remains connected to the battery for more than 48 hours and then switches to storage mode.

Temperature compensated charging
The optimal charging voltage for a lead-acid battery moves inversely to its temperature. The Blue Smart IP65 Charger measures the ambient temperature during the test phase and compensates for it during charging. The temperature is measured again when the charger is in low current mode during maintenance or storage. Therefore, there is no need for special settings for cold or hot environments.

Charging mode for Li-ion batteries
The Blue Smart Charger uses a special charging algorithm for Li-ion (LiFePO4) batteries, with automatic reset of the undervoltage protection of Li-ion batteries.

Normal charging voltage mode 14.4V - suitable for most common flooded (WET) and gel batteries. High charging voltage mode 14.7V - suitable for AGM batteries, especially with coil technology e.g. OPTIMA.
