Backup batteries (also called station, "stand by") of the Ultracell brand of the UL series. These are sealed lead-acid batteries in the VRLA design. This is a design in which the internal pressure is regulated by valves (VRLA - valve regulated lead acid). The advantages of this design, together with AGM technology (Absorbed Glass Mat - although the battery contains electrolyte in a liquid state, it is however absorbed into fiberglass microfibers, or so-called glass wool, which means it is firmly bound in the interior of the battery cells, and its leakage is practically excluded) are mainly the following:

• Higher maximum discharge currents
• Absolutely maintenance-free (in terms of water topping up)
• Longer service life
• Shockproof
• Leakproof - sealed - spill-proof

 Ultracell UL series batteries, with an optimal service life of 4 - 6 years, are intended primarily for the following applications:

• Backup power supplies (UPS - uninterruptible power supply)
• Electronic fire protection systems (EPS)
• Electronic security systems (EZS)
• Telecommunications equipment
• Emergency lighting
• Geophysical, meteorological and medical devices and equipment
